Literary Museum of Volodymyr Dal

The Literary Museum of Vladimir Dal is a literary memorial museum dedicated to the life and work of a prominent physician, writer, lexicographer and ethnographer, compiler of the Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language Dal. The museum is a branch of the Museum of History and Culture of the City of Luhansk. The exposition of the museum consists of personal belongings and household items of Vladimir Dal and his family. The museum houses a complete collection of Dal works in 10 volumes, dated between 1897 and 1898, rare lithographs, collection of editions of the Explanatory Dictionary Dal. Also in the museum collections are literary works by the writer published in the period between 1836 and 1855 , as well as his scientific works. A small room is devoted to his connection with his homeland of the Ukraine he lived for almost 20 years: up to 4 years in the Luhansk Plant, and later in Mykolaiv.
