«Decapsulation of the Museum» interdisciplinary project
Initiated by the Regional Historical Museum, R+N+D cluster and «Luganda-House» collective in 2013, the project tried to answer the issue of isolation and inactivity of Ukrainian museums. Project initiators also tried to change the model of interaction between the museum and local community – from estrangement to dialogue. The project has been realized as a residence that lasted 6 months. During the residence, meetings of museum employees and artists took place. Artists also worked in the museum archives. The projects had no curator in a usual sense, rather it had coordinators-mediators: Anton Lapov, research associate in the Regional Historical Museum, Oleksiy Bida, «Luganda-house» coordinator, and artist Tamara Hladysheva. All the information about the concept of the project and artists’ documented works are presented at the webpage: rmu.crevv.com
