Luhansk Regional Academy Drama and Music Theatre

The theatre was founded in 1941. In the 2000s it was a typical example of he post-Soviet provincial theatre. It staged classics such as “Taras Bulba” (written by Mykola Hohol) and “The Stolen Happiness” (by Ivan Franko), “Romeo and Juliette” (by William Shakespeare), some comedies such as “The French Way Divorce” (by François Campo), Moliere’s plays, musical comedies etc. The theatre’s repertoire was completely in the Ukrainian language. The institution is currently working in Severodonetsk (since 2014 it is the administrative centre of Luhansk oblast), although part of the collective stayed in Luhansk.
