Embroidery on Asphalt public action
45 metres long embroidery pattern has been drawn on a pedestrian path in the centre of Luhansk, near the Taras Shevchenko monument. On the Occasion to support of Ukrainian language in July 2012, after the Ukrainian Parliament passed the law “About language policy” that diminished the rights of Ukrainian language. Vyacheslav Bondarenko known also as Slava Bo had organized the action. Anyone who felt like it could take part in drawing of the piece. The complete drawing stayed until the first rain as the paint contained chalk, water and coloured pigment. Organizers could not get the permission from the Luhansk administration to use water-resistant paints. «Slava Bo has called me saying: “Nastya, I’d like to make such an action, I need an embroidery sketch and a piece of advice, what paint to use. I have prepared the sketches where every cell was marked with a letter, for instance, B – black, to make it easy to paint it after. Many people have come to an action bringing their children », – recollects Anastasiya Medyanyk
