The “OPD” Music Band

Co-founder of the band, artist and musician Yaroslav Derkach tells us about the “OPD”: “It was created by me and my friend Sergii Cemik. The “OPD” could include unlimited number of people, who meet the certain criteria. We understood, that there is a lot of smart people, and stupid are just a few. This was our credo. It was a continuation of the tradition of foolishness, we were inspired by such personalities as Petr Mamonov, everything avant-garde. We were in different sessions and concerts. We distinguished, because we had provocation on the first place, musical Dadaism. Eventually we moved from simple music to performance. We had no complaints, the same as other musicians, and we become rapidly popular. Came out and did what no one did on Luhansk scene. It was stupidity, clowning. People liked it. We had concerts in bike-club, in the Officers House, and in park. OPD lasted in Luhansk from 2000s till 2010. The band still exists but just outside the city”.
