Artist Maria Vdovychenko

She was born in 1991 in the Luhansk Oblast (Starobilsk). She graduated from the Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts majoring in "Singing" and "Art and Computer Graphics" (in absentia). "I work mainly on the creation of the characters. The only tool, which is used is a ballpoint pen", - said Maria in an interview for the edition of "Davlenie Sveta" in 2011. In Luhansk she had two solo exhibitions: in 2012, in the hall of the Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts (at the time it was the Luhansk State Institute of Culture and Arts) and in 2013 in the art-cafe "ChilloutDonbass". She participated in the collective exhibition "+/-", "Depressurization of Museum Universum", "the DMZ Identification" (Kiev), and others (again… I am not sure if we should translate the names of the exibitions). Also, she is famous for her illustrated designs for a collection of skateboards produced by the Ukrainian brand "Revol". Maria now lives and works as an illustrator in Starobilsk.
