Flashmobbers movement

«Vkontakte social network had been intensively attracting new users in those years. And “mobbers” who have been actively using the possibilities of Vkontakte for their flashmobs, have been really cool. For instance, they have organized “bang-bang” flashmob with 200 participants. The idea was the following. All participants enter the shopping mall; than at some moment somebody directed his/her “gun” on another participant, shot them and so on. The mall security started calling the police because so many people at once had never visited that mall. I remember a flashmob dedicated to Victory Day, on the 9th of May. One politician engaged us in this. See, we divided between ourselves the verses of the song “The Victory Day” (“Den’ Pobiedy” in Russian) and were walking at the demonstration as an alternative column. This action finished with a paintball tournament. And flashmobbers also contributed very much to our “Rebellion” fest – tram occupation in 2008. We were able to make the successful event thanks to mobbers. We could not think it is indeed possible to gather 300 people for an event through Vkontakte», - tells Yaroslav Minkin.
